Fay Curtis
Fay Curtis is a Real Estate Broker and Vice President with Manhattan Apartments Inc. for over 15 years. She is also the CEO of The Curtis Group Inc., a boutique Real Estate firm she started to offer more personal services to her buyers and sellers. Fay has been involved in over 4000 deals in her career (both rentals & sales of NYC properties) and is on track to continue this trend of deal making.
Born in London, England to a Cuban mother and Jamaican father, Fay's parents moved to the New York area, where she did most of her growing up in the suburbs of Long Island. She learned a lot about hard work, dealing with customers and being in business from her parents who owned a popular supermarket in their town. She started working in the family business at 12 years old, after school and on weekends until she left for college at 18.
Fay studied business and journalism in college and traveled back to Europe after graduating to pursue modeling and music. After a seven-year stint in London she returned to New York City to work as a marketing executive for a well-known lingerie company. The company wanted her to relocate to the Midwest, which was not appealing to her at the time so she decided to quit. She had friends doing very well in the Real Estate industry in NYC and they encouraged her to get her license and she hasn't looked back since. She says, "I've always loved interiors and architecture and I knew the importance of having and creating a home, I loved being a part of that process with my customers.
Fay did very well as a Real Estate broker almost immediately and she still loves every minute of it. She says" there have been many ups and downs like Wall Street booms and busts, Sept 11th or the current recession but nowhere compares to New York City and everyone wants to experience it in some way, there will always be a market for property in this city".
Fay currently lives in Midtown Manhattan, is single and still loves international travel, fashion, music, theater, trying new restaurants and hiking.
