Andi Silverman is the author of Mama Knows Breast: A Beginner’s Guide to Breastfeeding (Quirk Books, 2007). This comforting handbook is filled with advice, humor, and support from women who have experienced breastfeeding and life with an infant. The book is on the Lamaze International 2008 Recommended Reading List for New Parents. Andi also runs the popular blog www.mamaknowsbreast.com, a site that features breastfeeding news, tips and anecdotes. The Mama Knows Breast blog was voted one of the Top 100 Mom Blogs by Mother’s Day Central ( www.mothersdaycentral.com).
Prior to working as a mom, Andi was a lawyer and a television reporter. She reported for the CBS and Fox affiliates in Boston and an NBC station in Charlottesville, Virginia. She is also the founder of Scoop Productions (www.scoopproductions.com), a video production company. She is a graduate of Brown University, the University of Virginia School of Law, and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
